Thank you for visiting my website
My name is Kat (Katarzyna).
I know that sometimes it is very hard to be a human. Not that there is a lack of advice on who we ‘should’ be, how we ‘should’ lead our lives or how we ‘should’ manage our families and relationships.
I would like to offer you a very different experience, one without ‘shoulds’, where you can relax into being you, and from this perspective look at the reasons why you are thinking about counselling.
Carl Rogers
I am Polish and I have been living in the UK since 2005. At some point of my life, I felt overwhelmed by numerous problems and unhealthy patterns of thinking, and counselling was the place of my very positive and to be frank, quite spectacular, transformation. From that time, I wanted nothing more than to learn how to be with people so they can also experience changes they need and desire.
Following this plan, I gained a diploma in humanistic counselling from Metanoia Institute, BSc in humanistic counselling from Middlesex University and a certificate in couples counselling.
I am particularly interested in diversity and the ways we relate to ourselves, others, and the environment.
Apart from my work, I love reading, swimming and playing the classical guitar which I started learning in my late forties, strongly believing that I am never too old…
Offer yourself the most precious gifts: time and undivided attention.
You are the expert on your life. We will discuss together the best ways of supporting your goals in therapy and we will review our work regularly.
I studied person centred approach, transactional analysis, and gestalt, but I keep learning as much as I can about different modalities. I would describe my counselling approach as pluralistic and holistic.
It takes some courage to question our well-established ways of thinking and being, and to open to new perspectives. Non-judgmental and affirmative atmosphere can help to do so and to unlock your potential.
People come to me for help with a wide range of issues. Here are a few of the more common areas that can be supported through counselling:
stress
decision making
loneliness
loss
trauma
depression
relationship
procrastination
anger
anxiety
cultural differences
spirituality
suicidal ideation
bereavement
grief
work
migration
life transitions
illness
feeling stuck
identity
not belonging
menopause
pet bereavement
sexuality
gender, sexual, and relationship diversity
I work from private offices at:
In addition to face-to-face therapy, I also offer online counselling via VSee and Microsoft Teams for clients in Oxfordshire and beyond.
Couples use counselling in various stages of their relationships and for very different reasons. If you feel that the resources you have are not sufficient for your current situation, you may want to explore more options. Whether it is getting to know each other better, learning how to communicate more efficiently, needing support while going through a hard time (due to a crisis, accumulation of stress, infidelity, bereavement, health issues, etc), or wanting to be closer and happier together, counselling may be very helpful.
I work with both partners present in the room from the first meeting.
You might request a separate session (or a couple of sessions) when we will work individually, with the agreement from both of you.
I see couples in person only.
Session last 50 minutes, usually takes place on a weekly basis, and cost £50 per session for an individual client, and £60 per session for a couple.
I accept payments in cash, by cheque or by bank transfer. If you want to cancel a session I require 24 hours notice, otherwise you will need to pay for the missed session. If I cancel a session with less than 24 hours notice, your next session will be free of charge.
I see the first session as our mutual assessment: you interview me to check whether I am the right counsellor for you, and I have a chance to see whether I can offer you the right support.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
You can also call me on +44 7521001115 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an initial appointment.
All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services.
